Press Release Summary: Improved online industry network that allows freelancers and companies to showcase their work, connect and find opportunity in TV, film and commercial production
Press Release Body: London, UK, 14 October, 2008 - To coincide with the first day of the Times BFI 52nd London Film Festival, ProductionBase, the industry's online network for TV, film and commercial production, has announced a preview of its new website, which boasts an array of new features. Key to this announcement is the launch of ShowFolio, the industry's most innovative new online tool to dynamically showcase video, audio or text credits.
As the festival's Industry Programme sponsor, ProductionBase is afforded the opportunity to showcase ShowFolio, an industry first, to representatives of the film industry who are in London to showcase their films. This release marks the first step in the evolution of ProductionBase - a fully live website and a series of new features will be unveiled throughout the winter.
ProductionBase has been an industry force for over 10 years. Today, it is the first choice industry network for freelancers working in TV, film, and commercial production. As members of this exclusive community, users have access to hundreds of unique job opportunities, can showcase their work to over 13,000 production companies and are able to connect with other media professionals. The message board, the Watercooler, allows users to interact and share their thoughts and advice on working across all aspects of this sector.
Today's announcement sees ProductionBase preview many new features - in response to the evolving needs, of the TV, film and commercial production industries. The new website will continue to provide all of the functions that have made ProductionBase the first choice industry network, but in a way that makes it simpler, easier to use and ultimately easier for production companies and freelancers to connect. This launch unveils a brand new section of the site - ShowFolio. ShowFolio is the industry's most innovative new online tool to allow freelancers and companies to search and dynamically showcase video, audio and still photography along with professional profiles.
The launch of ShowFolio heralds a new way for freelancers to communicate with potential employers and showcase their credits. Members receive their own personal ProductionBase webpage, where they can store an online portfolio of their work - be that their video credits, showreels, audio credits or even scripts. Advanced search and tagging tools make it easy for users to promote specific skills - greatly improving the chance of being found and seen by the right people.
Using ShowFolio, members can create customised playlists containing selected video clips relating to a specific job opportunity. Users can also create a customised, personally branded version of their ShowFolio which is accessible beyond the ProductionBase website - providing a further platform through which freelancers can showcase their work to an online audience.
Additional new features include advanced messaging tools - making it easier for employers to directly contact freelancers - and for freelancers to interact with each other. In addition, they have introduced more advanced tools for employers to determine which applicants have the right skills for a specific job opportunity - including the ability to ask a series of qualifying questions to applicants, in addition to reading their profile and viewing elements of their work online.
